Pastor Jim Holthus

I was born in Winner, SD and grew up on a farm 100 miles south of Aberdeen.  I attended Northern State “College” and graduated in 1972. While attending college I also worked at the old YMCA at 420 S. Lincoln as the Aquatic Director, Wisagoma Camp Counselor, Youth Director, and Camp Wisagoma Director.  I attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul and was ordained in January 1983.  I have served two parishes and two Lutheran Campus Ministry pastorates.  I also earned a Master’s in Education in Clinical Counseling from North Dakota State University in 1993.  I retired in 2015 and since then have served seven churches as a part-time interim pastor. One of those positions was at Zion Lutheran in Aberdeen from September 2022 through Christmas 2023.
